Was stress de oorzaak van mijn hartinfarct?

Toen ik in 2010 werd geconfronteerd met een zwaar hartinfarct zeiden veel mensen tegen mij: Hoe kan het dat JIJ een hartinfarct krijgt. Tja, dat vroeg ik me ook wel af. Ik leefde best gezond, dacht ik. Alleen mijn bloeddruk kon wel aardig schommelen maar daar had ik medicatie voor. In mijn leven stond mijn gezin voorop. Daarnaast had ik een leuke maar ook drukke baan en een gezellig sociaal leven. Voor mijn gezondheid deed ik aan sport, yoga en koos ik voor gezonde voeding zoals mij dat geleerd was. Een best gezonde leefstijl dus.

En toch kreeg ik een hartinfarct!

Waarom?
Omdat ik kennelijk toch iets deed wat niet goed bij me paste. Wat niet goed voor me was. Maar wat dat dan was, daar kon ik toen niet precies de vinger op leggen.

Goed hersteld!
Ik ben gelukkig goed hersteld. Dankzij de medische zorg maar vooral dankzij het zelfhelend vermogen van mijn lichaam. Ik ben nu 7,5 jaar verder. Ik gebruik veel minder medicatie. Mijn conditie wordt nog steeds beter en ik voel me veel fitter en energieker dan voorheen.

Hoe komt dat dan?
Omdat ik heb gekozen zelf de regie over mijn eigen leven te voeren.
Omdat ik op zoek ben gegaan naar wat mij ‘beter maakt’.
Omdat ik er achter ben gekomen wat mijn lichaam ongezonde stress geeft.
Omdat ik nu veel beter weet wat er wel en niet bij mij past!

Hoe ik dat heb gedaan?
Door goed naar mijn lichaam te luisteren.
Door het volgen van diverse studies waardoor ik met die kennis mijn lichaam veel beter begrijp.
Door alles zelf in de praktijk uit te proberen.
Door de juiste mensen tegen te komen die me iedere keer weer een stapje verder helpen.

Was stress dan de oorzaak van mijn hartinfarct?
Met de kennis die ik nu heb kan ik zeggen: JA, stress was zeker een belangrijke oorszaak. Omdat ik ben gaan inzien dat in mijn leven van toen te veel stressoren aanwezig waren. Van verkeerde voeding tot negatieve gedachten, van een ongezonde omgeving tot te weinig zingeving. Ik herkende het alleen niet  -op dat moment-  als stress voor mijn lichaam.

En hoe gaat het met jou?

Of heb je last van wat lichamelijke en mentale ongemakken?
Of een slechte nachtrust?
Of voel je je geregeld somber maar je weet ook niet precies weet waar ‘m dat in zit.

Weet jij wat jouw lichaam stress geeft?
Hoe goed luister jij naar je lichaam? Ik nodig je daartoe van harte uit en maak dan ook de balans eens op. Wat geeft jouw lichaam stress? En doe er dan ook wat mee. Laat het niet zover komen dat je eerst een ernstige ziekte moet krijgen voordat je ermee aan de slag gaat.
